About the Instructor

Lee Steuber's background includes over twenty-five years working in the Information Technology industry, both as a "techie" in multiple companies and as a successful manager of critical IT teams for Pepsi-Cola. She was one of only two Technical Fellows in Pepsi's IT department of 600 people.

In making the move from her technical role to management, Lee saw that time, labor and valuable employees are all frequently sacrificed during this time of transition. While still at Pepsi-Cola she devoted much of her energy to studying this transition process, developing solutions to problems inherent in the process, and mentoring dozens of others as they developed career paths and weathered professional changes.

It became clear that transitional difficulties in technical workers' career experiences fell into frustratingly recognizable patterns with explicable solutions that can be taught.

After leaving Pepsi-Cola, Lee augmented her personal experience with intensive research, including in-depth interviews with over 100 successful professionals in more than twenty companies of various types and sizes. She then founded The Steuber Group and focused on building leadership and management skills in technical professionals.

The courses she has developed reflect this breadth of information, her emphasis on combining theory with practice and, most of all, her conviction that complex professional skills can be taught.
