"There was so much information packed into the seminar and so much that I'm making use of already, both professionally and personally. I am far more confident than ever before. I have improved my presentation style, both in the manner in which I convey information and my appearance... When I host meetings now they are more concise, and hence shorter, than before. I even have new options for relating to coworkers who had been personal challenges for me. Overall, I'm also more willing to step outside my own comfort zone(scary, yet exciting too) and make a change, to stretch myself and be the kind of leader I've always wanted to be."

Jan Angrave, Systems Integration Engineer, Zygo Corporation

"Just a quick note to thank you for an enjoyable and most worthy 3 days of training. As I have already expressed to you, I was very hesitant to attend a "NEW" managers seminar but I did get a great deal more out of it than I ever expected to.

The pace of the class and the curriculum was perfect. The role playing was something I always hesitated participating in throughout past experiences, but you used such real life cases that it made it so easy and enjoyable to be a part of. Most of all, your past work experiences were most beneficial as it showed throughout the 3 days that you were talking from past experiences and not from something you learned from a book or past education!

I would highly recommend this course to all new and even already established managers in any technical field."

Alden Schneid, Operations Manager, Diversified Investment Advisors

"The course was an excellent overview of what's involved in being a technical manager. For someone new to the role and unfamiliar with management concepts, it was a great introduction to what it takes to make the transition from being a technical person to managing technical people. With Lee's experience in both camps, she was very capable at communicating the different distinctions we needed to grasp to deal with our new roles as managers. She even made it seem interesting and (gasp!) fun.

I went back to work with a very different perspective on my job, I began to look at the broader picture of the part my team played in the company as a whole, how it could be more productive and profitable. I started to see solutions to problems that I hadn't considered to be "my problems" before. The fun part of it was that I could still use the logical, analytical skills that attracted me to programming in the first place - which is what I was afraid I'd miss by moving into management - and apply them to bigger, somewhat different problems. Lee's course took the fear and the mystery out of a role I wasn't sure I would like, and I find myself enjoying it and doing well at it."

Sari S., Project Manager, Hay Group, Inc.

"I have made the jump. I am the new Manager of the Technology group with two direct reports. Everything is going great. Thanks for everything, without your class I would have never made the jump."

David Bollard, Manager of Technology, Pepperidge Farm

"Two of my employees attended Lee's class and both came back raving about what they had learned. One of them was already a manager and has started to demonstrate new skills. He is much more comfortable in his role.

The other person, who was undecided about what to do before the class, decided to make the jump. He tells me Lee's class cleared up a lot of misconceptions he had about a management role."

Michael Auslander, Director Technology, Pepperidge Farm

"Designed and taught by someone who's been there. Lee's vast experience is evident in this nuts-and-bolts, well-paced course. Great for any techie who suspects life may be better on the other side."

Nadia O'Dell, Systems Administrator, Independent

"The New Technical Manager course was clearly time and money well spent. An excellent course for those IT professionals at the crossroad between continuing their hands-on technical role and transitioning into management.

The "Y" diagram visually helped me understand the two career paths. Having already made the transition into management, I can look back and see when/where I decided to switch. Lee Steuber's training environment is very relaxed and open for healthy dialogues between all attendees. You learn not only from the trainer, but from all the experienced professionals in the class."

Fern Johnson, IT Manager, PepsiCo, Inc

"Hello Lee. I'm back to work today and I'm sorry it took me until now to drop you a note. I wanted to express my sincere thanks for the class content and structure. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I feel that I learned a great deal from you. I talked to Anthony and Larry this morning to tell them how much I enjoyed meeting you. I also told them that I would have liked to work for you, I think you would've been a great boss!"
